US/ Argentina AO preview

One of our glorious USMNT supporters groups, The American Outlaws, have released their preview for the upcoming match against Argentina. It's short, sweet and to the point. These guys don't mess around.

Check it out.

TBR will be in attendance and plan on making the tailgate party as well. Look for us proudly sporting a Steel Army scarf, Dempsey jersey (just have the blue one, but we love the red one) and a beer in hand.

One Of The Family/ USMNT D preview

We here at TBR are happy to announce a new partnership. We are joining forces with the editor of the Steel Army blog, Chris Esposito. Espo will bring you not only updates about the upcoming Pittsburgh Riverhounds season, but will also give some perspective on the United States national team. And boy, does he have an opinion!

The Steel Army has been supporting the Pittsburgh Riverhounds Football Club since 2008, with PRFC now currently in USL-PRO. The SA is looking forward to a great season, the second under former player and now manager Justin Evans. TBR is also very excited about this upcoming season. We're big fans of Thabiso "Boyzzz" Khumalo, and happy to see him in the black and blue.

So Espo brings his sage advice in his latest article and gives his opinion about the USMNT and the back line that Bob Bradley has called up.

Welcome to The Boot Room, Espo!

Did I forget to mention something?

Yea, maybe I did. HA!

So there is also going to be a feature as a part of The Boot Room (from now on referred to as TBR). It's called Off The Pitch.

In this feature, you will hear interviews from people that are single-handedly making an impact on the Pittsburgh soccer community. So expect to hear from local players, coaches, supporters, etc.

I want to also try to feature the local music scene as well. I'm going to go after the ones that are unsigned, but not unnoticed. There are a lot of great voices in this area, and they need to be heard.

Again for suggestions, please email, tweet and like us. TBR is looking for eyes, ears and voices to get this moving too. You are part of this!

Thanks again for you support.

First Whistle (Introductions)

Welcome to The Boot Blog!

This is going to be one of the many cogs in the machine that is The Boot Room. On here, expect to find commentary on the world of football/soccer. Everyday, there is something going on, whether it be a match, an update on a player, something going on with the club or news on the international scale. You will find news from those things here, plus my take on it.

Also, there will be news and features from around the communites of the clubs as well. My goal is to also feature the goings-on of the soccer community in the Pittsburgh area too.

Piece by piece, The Boot Room is being built. You will also be able to follow The Boot Room on Facebook and Twitter.

But the major component of this is a few months away. That is taking the most time and planning, but when it does premier, we will let you know.

One major part of this too that I want is fan interaction. If there is something that you want me to talk about, have a question, or just want to sound off, comment on the entries, or email me. To make this work, I want you to have a voice in this as well.

I am very excited about this new venture. I have tried to get blogs going before, but never felt a passion behind it or inspiration to keep it moving. Here's hoping this one sticks and The Boot Room lives on.
